Corporate Events

The Events team works to support the University’s Corporate Strategy, through the organisation and delivery of high profile events specialising in corporate, alumni and research focused events across Exeter and Cornwall.

We support:

  • Vice-Chancellor-led events
  • Royal/Ministerial visits
  • Building openings – LSI, SERFS, Penryn Sports Centre
  • Faculty or Professional Services led high-level VIP visits to the University
  • We also directly support alumni events, and events for Research Services and Exeter Innovation directorates.

For Exeter campus events, we also work closely with Event Exeter, the University’s dedicated conference and event team. Similarly, for events in Cornwall, we work with FX Plus in Penryn who provide a conference and events service.

We can offer advice / consultation:

The Events team also acts in an advisory role to faculties, institutes and professional services who are organising events, to maintain consistency in standard and approach to University events.

We are able to advise on the following:

  • Conferences
  • Seminars and workshops
  • Internal networking events
  • Publicising your event
  • Advice on services and suppliers to contact

We are also able to offer assistance and recommendations with regards to event publicity and can advise on specific tools (eg Eventbrite and email marketing for events).

Event planning toolkit

Our Events Planning toolkit includes templates and resources to help event organisers.

The Health and Safety Event Management Standard provides checklists and explains the actions required by any person defined as an organiser of events on University managed premises (including campus grounds).

We welcome enquiries and suggestions to provide additional information as necessary.  If you have any questions, please email eventenquiries@exeter.ac.uk or contact a member of the team below.

Who we are

I lead the Corporate Events Team which delivers a diverse portfolio of strategically aligned events that enhance the University’s reputation and visibility. This includes showcasing the institution’s world-class research through major conferences and symposia, orchestrating VIP events including ministerial and royal visits, the Vice-Chancellors Garden Parties and other senior leadership-led events, averaging 150 events per year, and up to 500 attendees. The team plays a pivotal role in launching new institutes, facilities and buildings, and anniversary events, ensuring these milestones are celebrated with impact.

I also lead the University’s Honorary Degree programme, honouring distinguished individuals and strengthening Exeter’s global networks. Alongside event design and delivery, we provide an advisory service to all colleagues ensuring best practice within event management is consistently applied and that all event activity complies with GDPR, health and safety and other relevant industry standards.

Prior to joining the Corporate Events Team in 2018, I was the Events Manager for a Global Law Firm. Prior to this, I held a number of roles on the agency side specialising in conferences, incentive travel and private events for HNWIs.
