Promotion and Progression

Following a review of the first year of operation of the new promotions process and criteria, the following changes have been made:  

Clarification of criteria:

• Small updates to the Education category in the criteria to give further clarity.
• Clarity of the balance of evidence required, with particular reference to E&S and Research requirements.

To further streamline the process:

• New online application form. This will streamline the processing of assessments.
• Reduction in number of external assessors required for AP/P promotions.
• All promotions to come into effect from the 1^st August.

Below is an overview of the deadlines for the 2025/26 promotions round:
